Chairman Oz Nesbitt served two terms as Post One Commissioner and now into his first four-year term as Chairman. Oz knows the community, the culture and workforce of Rockdale County employees and has implemented a “ready-response” by being always accessible to the people he serve. Promises Kept
In 2016 one of the HOT TOPICS throughout the community was cleaning up the county. Chairman Oz Nesbitt promised to help clean up Rockdale County and he has made good, very good on his promises. More Code Enforcement Officers have been added along with weekend patrols and the Community Improvement Team was also implemented to help remove trash and household debris from the roadways as well as in hidden lots county-wide.
Chairman Nesbitt created the SEE SOMETHING,SAY SOMETHING initiative where local citizens can actually call, text or email photos and information about issues and concerns they notice in and around Rockdale County.
Residents throughout Rockdale County expressed a growing concern for more Arts, Culture and Entertainment, well, Chairman Nesbitt heard them loud and clear therefore, between the Public Relations Dept. and Parks and Recreation, quality of life events, activities and amenities have been added here locally in our own backyard. Summer Concert Series, Sunset Cinemas, Youth Bon Fire, Tennis Center Pro, first ever Rockdale County Dog Park and the purchase of Costley Mill Park with outdoor swimming and family picnic space that have become a big community “hit”.
